Lot Title:
1847-C PCGS VF-35.
Description:
1847-C ranks among the less-impossible dates in the Charlotte series, yet the original mintage of 23,226 ensures limited supply. More importantly, the surface quality and original character are absolutely unblemished for this, an example precisely and perfectly graded VF-35 by PCGS. Sharpness is ideal for the grade level, even considering the usual weaker strikes from the Charlotte mint, with lovely, light olive-yellow enriched by threads of deeper gold in the peripheral recesses. With a mintage of 23,226, a mintage number normally considered low, this is actually a more available issue from this most sought after southern mint. Its pleasing yellow-gold surfaces depict just... |
