Lot Title:
1795 Grate Token, Large Buttons, Reeded Edge. PCGS MS-63BN.
Description:
In high grade, the "large button" type is considered more common than "small button" survivors. Fields illustrate nice semi-prooflike reflectivity under the gleam of a strong lamp, but the rich walnut patina denies truly prooflike character. Minor surface disturbances occasionally flicker in and out of view, especially in either obverse field, but overall, the coin is relatively free from contact marks. While not completely struck, it is unclear whether the slightly flattened highpoints actually display any wear or friction. (PCGS# 000746)
