Lot Title:
1869 half-dollar pattern (J-754) NGC PF-60.
Description:
A complete set of "Standard Silver" coins is an excellent way to enter the fray for patterns, and at the NGC PF-60 level, that entry is eased financially. As an historic footnote, the coins were originally sold by the mint in complete sets for $15. This half-dollar displays fields flecked with medium tone over pewter-grey surfaces, with devices that emerge sharply and show strong definition. The texture of the toning helps disguise the presence of many small but grade-sensitive bagmarks. (PCGS# 060984)
