(About The Images)
1823/2 (JR-1) small E's PCGS XF-40. 1823/2 (JR-1) small E's PCGS XF-40.
Lot Title: 1823/2 (JR-1) small E's PCGS XF-40.
Description: White surfaces are -- shall we say -- quite sterile for a coin at the XF-40 level, with virtually no toning or patina whatsoever. While such paleness is a bit discomforting for circulated bust silver, there is no shortage of sparkling luster emission from within the peripheral stars. JR-1 is the only die-marriage for 1823/2 that used the "small E" punch on the reverse. (PCGS# 004498)

1823/2 (JR-3) PCGS VF-20.
Exquisite vintage surface color could not look any better for a silver dime of this era. The large Es ascribed by PCGS lead to quick attribution of JR-3.
