Lot Title:
1860-S PCGS VF-30.
Description:
In high grade, 1860-S becomes one of the keys to the three-dollar gold series, and even at better circulated levels it is considered tough, although it commands little premium at this, the VF-30 level. In spite of moderate wear, there are some bold details, and even threads of luster still clinging to Liberty's portrait on this example. Mustard-gold hue is ideal for circulated gold. (PCGS# 007981)

1860-S VF.

Rather dull surfaces are obscured by a cloudy patina, and there are a few micro-thin hairlines crossing Liberty's portrait. A moderately circulated coin from the Handyman's Early Type Collection. |
