Description:

A sorely misguided attempt was made to eradicate some old scratches or graffiti from the obverse left field, and perhaps Liberty's cheek as well. Now, those areas have odd texture, and all original patina has been supplanted by a rather dull effect from cleaning. A difficult gold type coin that is likely destined for a budget-friendly collection. (PCGS# 008109)
