Lot Title:

1810 Large Date Large 5. PCGS Genuine/code 98 (XF details/damaged).
Description:
Immediate visual impact is not quite as negative as one expect, given the "damaged" disclaimer (PCGS code-98). The fields have been either machined to an odd texture, or this coin has seen an almost unprecedented level of contact with other coins, resulting in innumerable micro ticks that cover the entirety of each side, except within the best protected areas, where original luster still lurks. Whatever it is that occurred happened long ago, because the overall medium-gold color with orange accents is about right for a typical, unmolested piece. An inexpensive way to add a highly desirable type coin to one's set. (PCGS# 008108)
