(About The Images)
1884 NGC PF-66 RD. 1884 NGC PF-66 RD.
Lot Title: 1884 NGC PF-66 RD.
Description: The obverse is stunning for the eminently well preserved copper-red color that dominates, enhanced here and there by a tasteful peppermint-blue accent, especially above the headdress and below UNITED. Flaming red color on the reverse has mellowed a bit, splashed throughout the centralized areas by cherry-magenta accents and a hint of wintergreen iridescence. Being housed in an NGC no-line holder, prospective bidders may take comfort in knowing that the color pattern has been stable for some time -- a critical assurance anytime purchase of "red" copper is being contemplated. Fields exhibit fine reflectivity, and contrast just a little with the lightly textured devices, and neither side bears evidence of spots or any other distractions.
