Lot Title:
1924-S PCGS MS-64.
Description:
A "full head" is temptingly just out of reach, since the ear hole and all three sprigs are noticeably defined, with a bare lack of separation between the hair and brim of the cap denying that all-important strike designation. Suffice it to say this is 90% of a full head. On balance, sharpness is readily apparent at the shield and within the chain mail as well, though the usual two rivets are mushy. Obverse luster is better than expected for MS-64, while the reverse is not quite as vibrant due to album toning.
