(About The Images)
1924-D PCGS MS-65. 1924-D PCGS MS-65.
Lot Title: 1924-D PCGS MS-65.
Description: 1924-D is without question one of the notorious strike-challenged issues in the Standing Liberty quarter series. Not only is Liberty's head frequently weak, but the date area is usually affect by a damaged die, and as exhibited here, the top of each digit in the date is frequently weak. This example is better than many, however, since Liberty does possess some facial features, and the shield has decent representation of the rivets. Aside from the usual strike problems, the gem appeal is obvious, with blistering luster and a gorgeous stripe of vivid rainbow toning arced above Liberty's head. Abrasions on Liberty's left (observed) thigh undermine upgrade consideration.

1924-D PCGS MS-65.
Brock Megran Collection. With an FH designation, 1924-D commands about eight times what a non-designated example costs, so a fairly intricate example like this that is not so-designated could prove...

1924-D PCGS MS-64.
Both sides are adorned with eggshell luster and lightly kissed with delicate flaxen-gold patina. While the majority of 1924-D quarters are poorly struck, this example, housed in a PCGS green-label...

1924-D Standing Liberty quarter, NGC MS-66
Hints of nutmeg-gold color spice up the edges of this "very gem" quarter, but the predominant appearance is that of a lustrous, powder-white coin. Due to a die crack sneaking through the upper area...

Both the obverse and reverse of this popular issue are dripping with luster. I looked at this coin with 10x glass for fifteen minutes, but only saw darkness. Then, I realized I had the wrong eye...
