Lot Title:
1911-D PCGS MS-65RB.
Description:
Sharpness is very pleasing for an early branch-mint wheat cent, and the reverse seems particularly well struck for 1911-D. A subtle blush of copper-rose patina may be seen aligned with the center of Lincoln's portrait, and each side retains about three-quarters of the original mint red color, which leads to a very attractive original appearance. Gorgeous luster swirls about the satin smooth fields, and there are very few carbon spots, noticeable only with a loupe. A tough example to beat with this level of red color!

1911-D doesn't stand out as a key date to the small-cent series, but the details shown here are unusually sharp for an early branch-mint example, with Lincoln's beard displaying a wealth of carefully... |
