(About The Images)
1875 NGC PF-63. 1875 NGC PF-63.
Lot Title: 1875 NGC PF-63.
Description: Considerable plush-blue toning envelopes the fields, folding gently into silver-magenta hues nearer Liberty's portrait, while the reverse is much more brilliant and accommodated by magenta-orange tone nearer the edges. The strike is wonderful, though of course not as sharp as the amazing proofs produced later in the decade, and some fascinating die lines are exhibited on the left edge of the shield and beneath GOD in the motto. 18_5 are toned blue in the date, while the single digit "7" is bright tan-yellow, just to add a little visual interest. NGC's PF-63 grade is properly assessed on account of modest hairlines in the fields.
