(About The Images)
1877 NGC MS-67*. 1877 NGC MS-67*.
Lot Title: 1877 NGC MS-67*.
Description: Here is a stunning superb gem quarter that truly has it all when it comes to eye-appeal. To begin with, there is no shortage of technical accolades, since the powerful strike is about as sharp as can be, given that the dies were already weakened from clashing by the time they hammered this coin. The luster is amazing! Add to this a sensational pattern of target toning, ideally formed on a prooflike obverse with concentric rings of emerald-green, indigo-blue and russet-gold, and the aesthetics are spoken for. Interestingly, the reverse displays minimal toning only at the rims, the central areas being brilliant silver-white and exceedingly lustrous. An unimportant pair of erratic pin scratches rest in the field right of Liberty's portrait, but do not impact eye-appeal in the slightest.
