Lot Title:

Virtually complete set of Lincoln cents (no 1922 plain) 1909 through 1984-D, including proof-only, in a Harco Coinmaster album.
|
Description:
|
Substantial effort was obviously made to avoid problematic Lincoln cents, as virtually every single example in this complete set (through 1984-D, no 1922-plain) appears to be a nice, glossy coin with better than average details. Jumping directly to the keys, 1909-S VDB grades VF at least, 1909-S is F/reverse scratched, and 1914-D is a superb VG-10. 1931-S grades F or so, and other coins deserve mention for being well above average, including 1911-S (VF), 1912-S (VF), 1914-S (VF), 1915-D (XF), and 1916-S (XF), just for starters. A few coins in the 1940s are UNC, and many more begin to appear after 1950. Also included are 1985-D and 1985-S. Cataloger's note: This evaluation is based on viewing the coins "through the plastic", and potential bidders are advised that surface issues may have been hidden by the associated holder. Further, Harco albums have been known to cause PVC contamination.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
