(About The Images)
1834 (B-3, R.3) AU/clashed dies. 1834 (B-3, R.3) AU/clashed dies.
Lot Title: 1834 (B-3, R.3) AU/clashed dies.
Description: Wholesome steely lavender patina dominates this small-sized bust quarter, and it is light enough that the underlying luster is scarcely inhibited at all. Beautifully struck, the stars are all nearly fully formed, and the eagle's feathers are all finely sculpted. Actual wear is limited to an extent that this could in fact be an AU-58 coin, but there are a few too many light ticks in the unprotected fields to permit the grade, suggesting AU-53 as a fitting compromise. This is a later die state alluded to in Tompkins' new book, with a nice die crack spanning the upper reverse field, and the "gills" on Liberty's cheek. Another marvelous original from the Tabasco Sauce collection.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1834 (B-4) NGC MS-62.
A thin die crack that meanders across some of the lower details on the reverse is often seen for B-4, one of the common die-marriages of 1834. NGC's grade of MS-62 adequately conveys impressions of...

1247The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$400.00
1834 B-2, R-4 AU-50.
This specimen quite possibly experienced a former a light cleaning on its obverse. It is a bold representation of a very scarce die marriage. There are no significant surfaces marks to detract from...
