Lot Title:
1866 NGC PF-64.
Description:
Judging by its orientation within the slab, it might be tempting to guess that both sides of this half-dime were struck upside down, but alas, it is merely the laws of inertia and momentum that have turned Liberty's world upside down, as one must assume NGC would have placed the coin correctly oriented into the holder. In any case, there is no toning to be seen on either side, and it is the presence of wispy horizontal hairlines on the obverse that undoubtedly lead to the PF-64 grade.
