Lot Title:
1870 NGC MS-63.
Description:
Scarcely any marks at all affect this more common shield nickel, and prominent luster prowls around either side of the shield device. Technical limitation of the grade derives from surfaces that are afflicted with rather dull patina, and there are a few small areas of gunk settled on the surface, particularly around the stars on the reverse, but such compromises are expected of the MS-63 grade.

Fine luster sparkles more so on the obverse than the reverse, which tends to be more reflective in nature. Several very tiny strike-throughs appear on either side, and a carbon spot rests left of the... |
