Lot Title:
1839 NGC AU-55.
Description:
A delightful example from the first year of issue for this long running series (1839 thru 1908). The only year with the hair curls above Liberty's forehead more diminutive than any other year. Retaining the majority of its lustrous aspect, the yellow-green gold surfaces are bathed in a blush of rose. A meager number of ticks are ascribed for this sharply defined issue, with the exception of the obverse stars.
