Lot Title:
1888 PCGS PF-64BN.
Description:
Securely encapsulated in this PCGS green-label holder is this 1888 proof Indian head cent, and long time storage in the slab ensures stable and original color. This is significant, because while the coin appears typically brown at some viewing angles, when the light is captured just so, the obverse fields simply erupt with a dazzling display of magenta-burgundy tones that flames with violet-azure iridescence nearer the rims. Inspection reveals a handful of micro-ticks on the cheek and sporadic carbon spots that limit the technical grade.
