(About The Images)
1819 MS-64 BN. 1819 MS-64 BN.
Lot Title: 1819 MS-64 BN.
Description: Substantial luster flows between the peripheral devices, despite the fact that this copper has toned to a very deep walnut brown color. A moderate planchet stain at 4:00 on the reverse is noted. Removed from an NGC MS-64 BN holder for inclusion in our consignor's type set. EAC 55, though a proper EAC brushing could enliven the luster and yield a higher grade consideration.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $390.00
High Estimate: $500.00

289The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$500.00
1819 (N-8) NGC MS-61 BN.
As a Randall hoard variety, N-8 is a common Newcomb die-marriage, although this one has nowhere near the usual number of spots and carbon stains usually seen. Indeed, the seemingly conservative NGC...
316The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$700.00
1819 Small Date (N-9) NGC MS-62.
From the standpoint of commercial grading, we see no obvious technical reason that this shouldn't grade MS-63 (BN), as both sides show freely flowing luster and a lot of eye-appeal. Certainly, less...
139The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$600.00
1819 (N-8, R.1) NGC MS-63 RB.
Randall hoard varieties apparently included 1819 N-8, since there are many uncirculated examples available to collectors. Fiery mint red occupies about one-fifth of the obverse, and a third of the...
117The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$500.00
1819 (N-8) PCGS MS-63BN.
N-8 is a common variety for 1819, with many mint-state examples known. This one is housed in a PCGS green-label holder graded MS-63 BN, and as becomes a hoard coin, there are no discernible signs of...
509The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$650.00
1819 and 1820.
A pair of high grade large cents, both undoubtedly from the Randall hoard, are to be found in this lot. Included are 1819 N-8 (MS-60/cleaned, EAC 45) and 1820 N-13 (MS-60/dipped, EAC 50). Two coin...
510The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$250.00
1819 N-3 and 1820 N-13.
A pair of better large cents are included in this lot. The 1819 can be quickly attributed as N-3 by the small date and the position of the last "S" in STATES centered over a leaf. This coin has...
231The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$625.00
1819 NGC MS-64
Hints of original mint red can be observed around the devices of both the obverse and reverse. The fields are very clean, and the devices are super sharp. If you are working on a high grade Type...
267The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$280.00
1819 N-2, R-1. MS-62+ BN.
Occasionally ascribed as being an 1819/8 variety because of swelling beneath the last numeral in the date. Intensely lustrous with an enlivened red aspect that fades into a mellow brown. There are...
