(About The Images)
1902 six-piece Proof Set. 1902 six-piece Proof Set.
Lot Title: 1902 six-piece Proof Set.
Description: A complete 1902 proof set in a Capital Plastics holder presents nice, high grade coins for your viewing pleasure. The Morgan dollar just misses a cameo designation, possibly due to a slightly weak strike (for a proof), but the good surface quality is not overly clouded by hairlines, leading to a grade of PF-63 or better. Only a little cameo contrast is evident on the Barber half, and fortunately, those hairlines found in the fields tend to be unidirectional so as to impact they mirrors minimally, allowing for a grade of PF-63. The Barber quarter grades a tidy PF-63, and the dime is PF-64. The Liberty nickel is powerfully stuck and grades PF-64, and the Indian head cent retains a majority of its original mint red color, though hairlines in the left obverse field suggest a grade of PF-63 RB.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
