Lot Title:
1864 PCGS PF-63.
Description:
It is understood that usually, a proof silver coin graded PR-63 is kept out of a higher grade by hairlines, but in this case, it is the remnants of corrosion that bar upgrade consideration. This Civil War issue is housed in a green label PCGS holder. Surface aberrations in the fields on both sides indicate previous environmental issues, subsequently curated for the protection of the coin (which remains mostly untoned). Still, it is sharply struck and features light cameo effect.
