(About The Images)
1875 PCGS MS-65. 1875 PCGS MS-65.
Lot Title: 1875 PCGS MS-65.
Description: Correct assessment as a business strike fails to convey a perceptible degree of contrast between the devices and the fields. Closer examination suggests that at least the reverse die was a little rusty prior to being placed into use, so it is likely the dies were repolished just before this coin was struck. Attentive collectors will note a tiny spike protruding from Liberty's throat.
Low Estimate: $500.00
High Estimate: $600.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.
Hammered Price: $525.00

330The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$625.00
1875 PCGS PF-65 (green label).
Bronze toning drapes over both sides, laying gently over fairly bright underlying surfaces. Lack of extreme sharpness is typical of proof 3-cent nickels this late into the series, and some...
457The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$750.00
1875 (P01, plate coin) PCGS PF-65 (green label).
1875 P01, Plate coin. Minor unevenness of the surface suggests a defective planchet, and this contention is supported by interesting mottled toning that includes a touch of sky-blue iridescence...
172The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$655.00
1875 NGC PF-65.
The surfaces are more flashy and wet looking than reflective, and they are no doubt completely gem in quality. Mostly absent of any cameo contrast, but still commendable in terms of striking details.
411The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$915.00
1875 NGC MS-65.
This splendid circulation strike is encapsulated in an old style NGC holder. An aesthetically appealing specimen with frosted motifs, unblemished surfaces, and prominent details.
