Lot Title:
1845-D Coronet quarter-eagle, NGC AU-55
Description:
An appealing Dahlonega coin with lemon-yellow color and certainly more originality than many competing specimens. Some dirt has built up in protected areas of the devices, and any hairlines found in the fields appear to be incidental in nature. Because the luster leans a bit toward being semi-prooflike, the cartwheel luster can be located only with a little persistence, but there is no question that this is a high grade survivor of this popular mint.
