(About The Images)
1869 PCGS MS-62. 1869 PCGS MS-62.
Lot Title: 1869 PCGS MS-62.
Description: Though generally not prooflike, as are many examples of this type, an interesting cameo effect is attained by the contrast in color between the devices and the fields in that the design motifs are generally silvery white while the backdrop retain a bit of tinted reflectivity. Some of the reverse devices are a bit frosty, however. A rather plain obverse strike is paired with a reverse strike that seems a bit better than average, but the peripheral stars do show good internal details. Abraded about to the extent expected of a Select grade, and there are some wispy hairlines strewn throughout the obverse fields.
Low Estimate: $3,400.00
High Estimate: $3,700.00

1869 NGC PF-61.
Abundant but gentle hairlining has less impact on the eye appeal than one might expect of the grade, and the appearance is further improved by some nice cameo contrast. Proper storage might allow this...

1869 NGC MS-62.

1869 MS-63+.
This is one fantastic early dollar. It has the color of a light amber liquor, a superb strike, and minimal marks. There are no cleaning lines, but it may have been dipped. Take a close look at this...
