This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

798The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$4,100.00
1869 PCGS PF-64.
Only lightly affected by some quick, flashing hairlines in the fields, which undoubtedly determine the grade. Especially for the reverse, the toning pattern substantially exaggerates cameo contrast,...
720The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$425.00
1869 VF/stained.
While the extremely original quality of this type coin cannot be challenged, a curved band of dark and slightly corrosive staining is notable across the lower left side of the obverse. It really does...
554The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$2,200.00
1869 NGC PF-61.
Abundant but gentle hairlining has less impact on the eye appeal than one might expect of the grade, and the appearance is further improved by some nice cameo contrast. Proper storage might allow this...
679The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$3,500.00
1869 PCGS MS-62.
Though generally not prooflike, as are many examples of this type, an interesting cameo effect is attained by the contrast in color between the devices and the fields in that the design motifs are...
658The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$3,900.00
1869 NGC MS-62.
This is a well-struck coin off fresh dies. Both sides of this lovely coin sport a nice cameo contrast. The surfaces are somewhat prooflike with some original color in the fields. A few scattered...
744The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$3,300.00
1869 MS-63+.
This is one fantastic early dollar. It has the color of a light amber liquor, a superb strike, and minimal marks. There are no cleaning lines, but it may have been dipped. Take a close look at this...
