Lot Title:
1841-D XF-40.
Description:
This lot offers a popular low mintage (29,392) Dahlonega Branch Mint issue. The coppery aspect that enriches its surfaces is due to the high concentrate of copper in the alloy's mixture. A sprinkling of contact marks and minute rim nicks and bruises are noted on both surfaces. The design details of this handsome issue are well defined for its assigned grade level.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1841-D Small D PCGS Genuine (code 92/XF details/cleaned).

Large die cracks quadrisect the obverse, and suggest impending die failure. That PCGS invoked Code-92 (cleaning) will surprise most bidders, as the coin looks really original at first glance,... |

1841-D PCGS XF-45.
The "small D" commands no premium as a variety, being the more common of two die marriages for 1841-D, but the total mintage of 29,392 assures scarcity as a date in the series. XF-45 is an excellent... |
