Lot Title:
(1792 - 1794) Kentucky Token, "Plain Edge" Breen 1155. PCGS XF-45.
Description:
This popular "Starry Pyramid" Halfpence was struck in Birmingham, England and was intended for a nationwide distribution in the United States. Conjecturing that Kentucky would complete the roll call of states, the minters of this post-confederation token coinage positioned the star with its initial, K, at the summit. The outstretched arm, the peripheral legends, and the stars with their representative initials are sharp. On the scroll, "Our Cause" is only partially visible. The surfaces are chocolate brown and smooth, with only a few random ticks to note.
