(About The Images)
1893-O ANACS XF-45, 1895-O F-12 DETAILS CLEANED, and 1896-O ANACS AU-50. 1893-O ANACS XF-45, 1895-O F-12 DETAILS CLEANED, and 1896-O ANACS AU-50.
Lot Title: 1893-O ANACS XF-45, 1895-O F-12 DETAILS CLEANED, and 1896-O ANACS AU-50.
Description: A suggestion of lilac is perceived on the light silvery surfaces of the 1893-dated piece. Russet hues hug the peripheries of this handsome, circulated, southern mint issue. Although the 1895 New Orleans example has been cleaned, its surfaces do not depict anything further than wear and normal circulation indicators from excessive circulation. The 1896-O has an heirloom silver hue that is enhanced by whispers of golden russet. It is an admirable circulated representation of a date that is very elusive in Mint State condition.

924The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,150.00
1893-O PCGS AU-55.
Checkered Collection. "Murderer's Row" in the Morgan dollar series includes all the issues dated 1893, and 1893-O is no exception. Even circulated examples can be elusive if "nice", and though...
843The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$260.00
1893-O ANACS VG-8, and an 1899 PCGS AU-58.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. The Odd Couple was released in 1968 and starred Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau and eventually inspired a successful TV series, but this odd couple pairs up Morgan dollars...
844The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$775.00
1893-O PCGS AU-53.
Smithereen's Collection. Wonderful luster despite seven points of wear, with white brilliance that has a first-glance appearance of UNC. While a bit softly struck at the exact center of each side,...
725The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$525.00
1893-O PCGS XF-45.
Lustrous nearly to the extent that AU isn't out of the question, with the added benefit that the obverse is unusually clean for a circulated dollar. Liberty's cheek is particularly smooth, though a...
702The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$775.00
Two 1893-O XF details/cleaned.
Detail is relatively strong for each of these 1893-O Morgan dollars, probably at or near XF-45 in each case. Both have been cleaned, with one a shade brighter than the other, but neither coin...
703The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$5,450.00
1893-O (VAM-4) PCGS MS-63.
VAM-4 features the mintmark tilted right, much like VAM-2, but also has an extra upper serif on the "1" in the date. This one is pedigreed to the "David S. Emery" registry set on the slab insert, but...
637The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$625.00
1893-O NGC AU-53.
Plentiful mint luster remains on the obverse, while the reverse may well grade AU-55. A pleasing, original example of this semi-key date.
715The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$450.00
1893-O XF.
Usually lost in conversation about keys to the Morgan dollar series is the fact that the 1893-O has the fifth lowest mintage among business strikes, virtually tied with the 1881-C, itself a far more...
722The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$425.00
1893-O, 1894-O, 1896-O and 1903 Morgan dollars
A lot of tougher Morgan dollars. The 1893-O has VF-20 details, but has been modestly cleaned, and is the only member of this quartet with a mentionable detraction. We list the other three coins as...
723The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$725.00
1893-O Morgan dollar, PCGS AU-53
Smooth, distraction free fields and devices suggest this as a premiere quality semi-key for the grade. Plenty of luster fills the margins, and the off-white color yields to a very thing ring of...
830The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$280.00
1893-O VF-35.
Only 300,000 were struck, representing the lowest mintage for a New Orleans Morgan silver dollar issue. An heirloom silver quality enhances its visual aspect. As a further attribute, it is void of...
831The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$600.00
1893-O NGC AU-53.
This admirably lustrous example has golden nuances enhancing its exquisite silvery surfaces. The design element detailing is far superior to the normally encountered pieces from this issue. Its...
832The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$700.00
1893-O AU-58.
Semi-prooflike effects yield a slightly cameo aspect to the reverse, while the obverse offers the more familiar brilliant appearance. Although not strongly struck (it’s an O-mint after all), the...
895The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$600.00
1893-O AU-50.
This better date issue, from a favored southern mint, exhibits a pale silver, untoned guise. Void of detracting marks or blemishes, it does show evidence of possibly filed rims. Decently struck for...
896The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,550.00
1893-O ANACS MS-61.
A scarce issue with a mintage of only 300,000. Its satinlike luster has a somewhat reflective aspect, especially so on the reverse. Lightly hairlined and with a sprinkling of ticks, this popular New...
897The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$3,900.00
1893-O PCGS MS-62.
Just a whisper of golden iridescence adorns this desirable New Orleans specimen's creamy white surfaces. This particular piece is pleasantly lacking in unsightly marks or blemishes. Remarkable...
834The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$675.00
1893-O ANACS AU-50.
A nice dollar that has original mint luster lurking around the devices of both the obverse and reverse. There is a bit of russet toning on the peripheries of the reverse. Its color is bright, the...
