1885 PCGS MS-66. 1885 PCGS MS-66.
Lot Title: 1885 PCGS MS-66.
Description: A gleaming jewel of this Indian Princess Head, Large Head design. Although not indicated on its label, this piece is prooflike in appearance. No doubt an early strike from the dies employed since there is no evidence of clashed dies on either side. The surfaces are virtually pristine, and the strike is very bold.

906The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$4,750.00
1885 NGC PF-64 CAMEO.
CRR Set. Mintage: 1105. Some observers suggest that these were often given as gifts during the late 19th century, but at any rate, proof gold dollars of the era were struck in very limited numbers...
1045The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$8,500.00
1885 NGC MS-67 Star DPL.
It is entirely possible that this is actually a proof striking, and it might well be worth the new owner's effort to submit it for re-certification, as we have compared die characteristics to known...
1065The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$5,250.00
1885 NGC PF-64 Ultra Cameo.
One has to appreciate how remarkable it is for so much eye-appeal to be concentrated into a single tiny coin like this, but that is exactly what is so compelling about 19th century proof gold. This...
783The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$15,000.00
1885 PCGS PF-66 Cameo.
No mistake is possible regarding the proper proof format designation, as thickly textured devices contrast very well with the reflective fields and assure strong cameo effect. Hands down, the...
775The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$5,250.00
1885 NGC PF-64 Ultra Cameo.
In many series, a PF-64 grade may not immediately seem all that impressive, all by itself. But within the series of proof gold dollars, in conjunction with the coveted UCAM designation, it should turn...
277The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,700.00
1885 ANACS MS-63 PL.
This specimen's elegant reflective fields complement its frosty design elements. Its satinlike surfaces emit a rich yellow-gold glow. An array of faint hairlines are perceived on the reverse fields...
