Lot Title:
1879-CC AU.
Description:
Original mint luster can be observed around the devices of both the obverse and reverse. At some point in time this coin may have been lightly wiped. It has bright orange color and has only a few marks on the obverse. Only 10,708 of these were minted, and only 228 of those have been graded by NGC. Who knows how many chances you are going to get to purchase this super tough date.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

The ANACS description could not more aptly describe the condition of this Carson City product. Hardly recognizable as an genuine coin at first glance, prudent examination of the date and mintmark... |
