Description:

Captain Green Collection. Collector appeal: "B-" for the average grade range estimate of AU on up. A slightly curious barrage of missing dates includes 1932-D, 1932-S, 1936-S, 1937-S, 1939, 1962, 1974, and 1997-P, with everything else including silver proofs and type-2 coins present through 1998-S. A few earlier coins show evidence of light cleaning at the XF+/AU level, such as 1934-D (AU/polished) and 1936-D (AU/dipped), but most coins will present as nice, no-problem pieces. It appears as from 1940-S onward, every coin is a true UNC with no obvious sliders, and some occasional pretty rim tone applies to a few pieces such as 1951, 1957, and 1960-D. A fantastic set to take on and upgrade as time and budget allow!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
