Collector appeal: "A-" for the average grade range estimate of AU on up. Scarcely any upgrades will be deemed necessary for a set as nice as this. A few AU coins sprinkle the first page, such as 1932-D (AU-55), 1932-S (AU-50), 1934, 1934-D, 1935-D (AU-55), 1936-D (AU-55), 1936-S, 1937-PDS (all AU-50 or better), 1938-S, 1939-D, 1940-D, and 1940-S, but these are such high-caliber, lustrous examples that they basically fit right in to what is otherwise an UNC collection. Numerous later issues will grade at least MS-65, and of course, the proof and type-2 coins make their appearance. It's tough to imagine a stronger way to jump-start one's entry into the high-caliber Washington quarter set than this.
