In any grade, 1909-S does not fall within the realm of the most common dates of the series and commands a premium at all levels. MS-61 proves to be an economical level, but the value rises dramatically within even the next point or two of upgrade. The primary grade determinant here appears to be a series of small abrasions extending up and right across the cheek, while the reverse looks "choice" as it is. (PCGS# 008864)
