Lot Title:
1853 NGC AU-58.
Description:
While no early double-eagle could be considered "common" at or near mint-state, 1853 falls in the series of Philadelphia issues that can be used for type without busting a budget. This AU-58 example retains the vast majority of original BU luster and benefits from attractive dandelion-gold patina. Some dark, vintage encrustation remains attached to the outer edge of major devices. (PCGS# 008908)
