Lot Title:
Eight Uncirculated commemorative half-dollars, all toned.
Description:
Captain Green Collection. Some degree of toning has seized each member of this octet, although two Iowa halves in NGC MS-66 and MS-67 holders show only minimal eggshell patina. 1954-D Washington-Carver represents the lone PCGS entry, graded MS-65 with extremely dense yet appealing Day-Glo purple that flashes large orange accents on the reverse. The rest are in NGC slabs, including: 1937-S Arkansas (MS-65, deep ocean-blue and magenta on the obverse), 1892 Columbian (MS-64, flashy dove-grey), 1925 Stone Mountain (MS-64, even obverse violet-grey and charcoal-grey on the reverse), another Stone Mountain (MS-64, obsidian on the lower obverse, charcoal-grey on the reverse), and another Stone Mountain (MS-63, heavy charcoal-peach on both sides). Eight coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
