Description:

This is an example of Breen 6898. Breen postulated that a center punch used on a reverse hub resulted in the appearance of a "hollow ring atop the second stripe" on the reverse shield design of this particular variety. Its orange-gold aspect is quite pleasing, and a good deal of luster is retained on its gleaming surfaces. This example is devoid of obtrusive marks. Although the individual stars are lacking in detail definition, the balance of the design motifs are above average for this rather scarce "No Motto" Eagle.
