Lot Title:
1822 NGC VG-8.
Description:
Nearly infamous as a rarity in its respective capped-bust series, 1822 dimes in any sort of premium quality condition routinely sell for well over price guide indications. It is far and away the key to the series in any grade, and while the VG grade has specific implications for a lack of generally finer details, the headband at least exhibits a full LIBERTY, and most of E PLURIBUS UNUM shows on the reverse motto. A single ancient contact mark projects forward from just in front of Liberty's eye and represents the lone distraction. (PCGS# 004497)
