Lot Title:
1950 PCGS PF-66DCAM.
Description:
A knockout coin with any level of cameo quality, the 1950 proof nickel becomes a particularly desirable jewel at the present PCGS PF-66 DCAM level. These show up at auction with amazing infrequency, with but a handful known in any grade higher than PF-66 DCAM. The coin looks as if it could have been struck twelve minutes ago, with gleaming water-surface luster providing a beautiful backdrop for white, frosty devices. A small cluster of tiny contact marks on the jaw line were present prior to meeting the dies, and were simply not struck out of the host planchet. (PCGS# 094182)

This is a beautiful nickel that has frosty devices and incandescent violet toning. There are just a few small marks, but they are not distracting. |
