(About The Images)
Roll of Uncirculated 1943-D. Roll of Uncirculated 1943-D.
Lot Title: Roll of Uncirculated 1943-D.
Description: Josephsburg Nickel Collection. The consignor assembled coins that he felt were contenders for the "full-steps" designation, seeking out mint-state pieces, of course. A full tube of superb quality coins, a few of which actually appear to be slightly prooflike.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $150.00
High Estimate: $200.00

388The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$775.00
1943-P Doubled Die Obverse, PCGS MS-66.
The Redbook lists the FS-029 variety as "doubled eye", but the PCGS attribution of "doubled die obverse" is certainly more appropriate. It is true that an extra eye protrudes from the lower eyelid in...
1004The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$290.00
1943-P NGC MS-64.
This popular overdate is bright white and full of luster. This coin should be a real hit with Jefferson Nickels guys like Nick C.
297The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$390.00
1943-P DDO FS-029. ANACS MS-65.
Jaw-dropping speckled toning surrounds the peripheries of most of the obverse and parts of the reverse on this challenging double die variety. Fully lustrous and with grand appeal.
298The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$800.00
1943-P 3/2 NGC MS-66.
This is a super looking War Nickel. The luster and mint frost achieved on this silver inclusive nickel far exceeds anything struck on copper-nickel. This is the highly desirable 1943/2. The...
