Lot Title:
1881 NGC PF-66 CAC.
Description:
Several small ticks on Liberty's upper hand seem to be the only stray marks of note. A wide swath of royal-blue toning surrounds magenta-grey throughout most of the central obverse, with similar colors mingled in slightly more erratic fashion on the reverse. Liberty's portrait features distinct frosty texture, but the reverse appears to lack any real cameo aspirations. (PCGS# 006442)

This is a tough coin to find in Mint State. Its fields are highly reflective, and its devices are frosty. A breath of golden toning adorns the peripheries of both the obverse and reverse. |
