Collection of Lincoln cents in two Dansco albums, 1909-S VDB PCGS MS-63 BN, and 1922 plain ANACS F-12.
Description:
The Nickel-To-A-Doughnut Collection. Dansco albums house a complete collection of Lincoln cents dated 1909 through 2013-S, except that the 1909-S VDB has been graded MS-63 BN by PCGS, and the 1922 plain has been certified as F-12 in an old ANACS holder. Considerable mint red visits the 1909-S VDB, in addition to intriguing denim-blue toning layered over the high points. Amazingly enough, the album also contains a 1955 DDO (VF/corrosion burnished) and a 1972 DDO (MS-60)! Additional highlights include: 1909-S (VF-30), 1914-D (VF-20), 1931-S (XF), as well as numerous early dates in better grade. For example, VF/XF coins occupy slots for 1911-S, 1916, 1918-S, 1919-D, etc. Finally, just for kicks, the consignor included a broadstrike 1981, a blank planchet, and obtained red coins for most of the slots from 1934 on.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
