Lot Title:
Judd-848: 1870 10-Cents Pattern, aluminum, NGC CAC.
Description:
Avant Garde Collection. Aluminum is the rarest metal alloy used to strike the 1870 "standard silver dime" patterns, with this plain-edge sub-type the rarest variant of all. It is the only example known to have been certified for Judd-848. Superior quality overall with basically no evidence of oxidation, each side does display some cameo effect, though apparently not enough to warrant a designation. NGC PF-66 (CAC), Rarity 7+. (PCGS# 061092)
