(About The Images)
1862 NGC MS-63. 1862 NGC MS-63.
Lot Title: 1862 NGC MS-63.
Description: New World Estate. High grade examples of 1862 often show prooflike tendencies, and that is the case here, as very strong die polish dominates the fields and provides a "brushed metal" appearance at many viewing angles. The effect can be dazzling and hypnotic at the same time. Liberty's portrait boasts strong matte texture and ivory-white complexion that contrasts with fragile mauve-grey patina gravitating toward the outer field areas. An extremely well-detailed strike completes the picture of a high-quality Seated Liberty dollar, certified for the first time ever and new to the population report. (PCGS# 006952)
