Lot Title:
1845 AU.
Description:
Natural Classic's Collection. Given that this was likely struck with a somewhat prooflike appearance, one can nonetheless surmise surprisingly potent luster beneath strong, bold AU details. Long storage in an album has placed cool ocean-blue and violet toning against the rim, with the reverse showing some encroachment upon the eagle's motif. Bidders will be pleased to find the rims free from dings, and the entire coin basically free from contact marks. (PCGS# 006931)
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Denim-blue patina layers over about half the obverse, extending inward from the stars, while the reverse sees a stronger proportion of like patina. Only a delicate hint of luster graces the stars,... |
