Lot Title:
1873-S NGC MS-63.
Description:
Natural Classic's Collection. Type-1/Type-1. Flat-out beautiful, this is exactly how the collector wants his superior "choice" Trade dollars to look, with glowing, creamy luster and unmarked fields. Some dusky eggshell-white patina has gently settled over the obverse, while the reverse must have been in contact with a paper-based toning source, which imparted a squared-off area of vivid indigo and violet-gold toning. All this general toning pattern indicates that the coin has not been dipped in at least the recent past, nor is that marvelous smooth luster diminished in any way. 1873-S will usually come fairly well defined, with this one showing outstanding sharpness everywhere except for a touch of softness on the eagle's head. Seemingly very close to MS-64 quality, and potentially an upgrade candidate. (PCGS# 007033)
