(About The Images)
1944-D/S PCGS MS-63RB (green label). 1944-D/S PCGS MS-63RB (green label).
Lot Title: 1944-D/S PCGS MS-63RB (green label).
Description: FS-511 is THE premier D/S variety for 1944 and makes an appearance in the Redbook. A full upper quarter of the underlying "S" shows clearly above the "D" for this early die-state example, and of course, the PCGS green-label MS-63 RB grade instantly affirms the choice quality. Auctions show very few appearances of FS-511, though the other more common (and less desirable) varieties do show up in high grade on a regular basis. (PCGS# 002727)

1944-D/S (OMM-002) NGC MS-65 RD.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. 34 graded MS-65, 8 higher at NGC. 1944-D/S has multiple varieties, with this excellent obverse showing obvious signs of an "S" underneath the Denver mintmark. Quite scarce...

1944-D/S FS-021 OMM-2 MS-65 Red.
Blazing ultra-original mint red-orange color flows effortlessly over dynamic, lustrous surfaces. FS-021 is your cataloger's personal favorite OMM for 1944, since the D/S feature can actually be seen...

1944-D (FS-021 "D/S") Lincoln cent, ANACS MS-60 RD
The image in the Redbook is of FS-020, or "die 1". ANACS correctly attributes this example as "die 2". Although the obverse implies a much better grade, there is a huge carbonized area on the left...
466The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$100.00
1944-D (FS-021 'D/S') Lincoln cent MS-63
Die pair 2 does not reveal as dramatic an over-punched mintmark as does "die pair 1", yet it remains an elusive variety, characterized most plainly by the center curve of the "S" within the "D"...
