Lot Title:
1889 NGC MS-64.
Description:
Classic Mustang Collection, Mintage: 12,000. Low-mintage half-dollars struck during the 1880s almost always show as prooflike coins, and frankly, a satin-luster example like this is quite a find for the collector who wants all his coins to match up to lustrous, circulation-strike characteristics. On top of that, this one appears flat-out undergraded at MS-64, as the fields show no distractions at all, and both sides exhibit uninhibited, full blazing mint luster. Add to that the usual razor-sharp definition always seen, and you have a coin that has "potential" written all over it. (PCGS# 006371)
