Lot Title:

1876-CC NGC UNC details/improperly cleaned.
Description:
Mike Wrinkle Collection. Evidence of cleaning is relegated to light hairlines in the fields, although they are apparent only under bright light. Overall, the ivory-white surfaces present very well and show no marks at all, as if the coin could have graded MS-65 without the hairlines. This is one Carson City jewel that probably needs to sit in an album for a long time in order to recover some patina and subdue any ill effects of a long-ago wipe. Extremely well defined and attractive despite the noted shortcomings. (PCGS# 006353)

1876-CC AU/rim bump.
Perhaps a little too bright for the AU grade, but of more importance is a noticeable rim bruise at the top of reverse. Can you hear me now? |
