(About The Images)
1831 (LM-1) PCGS MS-64 CAC. 1831 (LM-1) PCGS MS-64 CAC.
Lot Title: 1831 (LM-1) PCGS MS-64 CAC.
Description: Surfaces practically glow with utterly exquisite neon-silver frost, surrounded outside the stars by some striking graphite-white rim toning that somehow manages to remain "bright" yet dark simultaneously. The effect is quite difficult to convey in words. Technical aspirations include a very sharp strike from fresh, early state dies. A thin hairline contact scratch nearly eludes discovery by hiding beneath Liberty's jaw line and should be the only impediment to an even higher grade. (PCGS# 004278)

1831 "LM-1.3 retained cud." PCGS AU-55.
NIT on the reverse are capped by a delightful die crack that forms a retained cud, and LM-1.3 is popular for this characteristic. A lustrous coin with signs of only inconsequential old cleaning.
